Ski Trip Packing List
Ski Gear for day-trip
- Skis or Splitboard
- Boots
- Poles
- Climbing skins
- Digital multi-antenna beacon
- Avalanche probe
- Avalanche shovel
- Any other avalanche safety gear (airbag, Avalung)
Clothes for day-trip
- Warm hat
- Mittens / gloves (2 pairs are recommended. Light pair for skinning, warmer for skiing and when we stop)
- Socks
- Hard shell / waterproof-breathable jacket
- Soft shell jacket or light fleece jacket
- Base layer / undershirt
- Ski pants (not insulated-you heat up very quickly when skinning!)
- Base layer / long johns
- Down sweater or other warm layer
- Goggles and/or sunglasses
Extra Items for day-trip
- Water bottle and/or thermos
- Food and beverages
- Headlamp
- First aid kit and emergency blanket
- Emergency repair kit (duct tape, cable ties etc.)
- Discovery Pass and parking permit (leave in your car windshield)
- Day pack
- Map and compass
- Radios if you have them
- Emergency beacon such as Spot if you have one
- Spare batteries for your transceiver and headlamp
- Ski strap
Stuff for hut
- Toilet paper
- Hand sanitizer
- Hut shoes or slippers
- Change of clothes (sucks to wear ski gear all evening)
- Earplugs
- Any medications
- Personal hygiene items (toothbrush, sunscreen)
- Sleeping bag (summer or 3-season, it gets warm in the hut)
- Bag to pack out your garbage and recycling
