BaseCamp Volunteer Abroad Opportunities for Climbers
24 May 2010
To The Alpine Club of Canada,
My name is Jackie Baldry and I am a Volunteer Consultant with BaseCamp International Centers and the Volunteer Abroad program. I wanted to follow-up regarding a placement for climbers that I sent to your club a few weeks ago.
This volunteer placement in an excellent opportunity for climbing enthusiasts to travel to the Providencia region in Costa Rica to help build an Eco trail through Los Quetzales National Park. The goal is to update the existing nature trail and to create new trail systems to help diversify the hiking in the area. This will also help to reduce the traffic and impact on the current trails in the Regional Cloud Forest. Volunteers will have the opportunity to work with the local climbing team throughout the week and to do independent climbing after work and on the weekend trip to Rightside Crag in Cachi.
I have attached more information regarding this placement, if any of your members are interested please pass it on! If your club is interested in sending a group of volunteers please contact us and we will arrange a custom trip for you. If you have any questions I can be reached at 1-866-646-4693 or
Thanks for your time and consideration, I look forward to hearing from you.
