This year’s Annual General Meeting was held on November 14, 2009 at the Telemark X-C club in Westbank. Club members enjoyed a very interesting and informative photography workshop and practiced beacon searches which were followed by pizza and the meeting.
Here is the rundown of the meeting:
Photo Contest
The Pat Reiter and TJ Tessel Memorial photo contest submission deadline was extended to November 22, 2009. Judging will be done on December 1, 2009 at the club’s monthly social.
Winter Camp
The winter ski camp for 2010 is being held at Golden Alpine Holidays Meadow Hut in the Selkirks. Deadline for early registration is November 21, 2009.
Executive Reports
Treasurer – Financial report was presented. In summary, the club is fine financially. Members of Executive Committee approved the purchase of a new projected for the club’s use at meetings and monthly socials.
Trips – Club members discussed the variable participation at summer trips and ways of improving member involvement.
Newsletter – Any articles and trip reports are accepted.
Membership and Library – ACC Okanagan membership is higher than it has ever been.
National – The national section, through the leadership committee has created a new ski touring training course designed to train ski touring trip leaders.
Leadership Committee – The skills survey received good participation from the club’s members. The results of the survey will help in identifying future potential trip leaders.
Access & Environment – New Glacier National Park winter permit process is being announced. Details will be posted on the club’s forum shortly.
