A new guidebook " Climbing in the West Kootenays" is available, and inspired by some pictures in it, John Fantini and I climbed the S ridge of Mt Gimli in Valhalla Provincial Park last week. A two hour walk from the car park/campsite, it is got to be one of the most accessible alpine routes anywhere. A fantastic climb. Just don't expect to find any 5.6 pitches. Worth the drive just to see it.
